About These Terms
Acceptance
By accessing or using the website operated by Shado Pty Ltd ("Shado", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms periodically; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated version. Updated Terms take effect once published on the Site.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Site. If you access the Site on behalf of a business, organisation, or government entity, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to act on its behalf.
Purpose and relationship with other policies
These Terms govern use of the Site and operate in conjunction with Shado's Privacy Policy, Product Warranty Terms, Partner Agreements, and any specific ownership or authentication conditions. The Site provides information about Shado's products, technology, and verification services such as Vault Lookup, for informational and authentication purposes only. The Site does not create any agency, partnership, or warranty relationship between you and Shado.
Using The Shado Website And Vault
User responsibilities (fair and lawful use)
You agree to use the Site responsibly and lawfully. Without limitation, you must not:
- disrupt or compromise the Site's security or functionality;
- access, copy, index, scrape, or resell Site or Vault data by automated means;
- misrepresent identity, ownership, affiliation, or authorisation;
- upload or distribute false, misleading, or harmful content;
- bypass, disable, or attempt to defeat any authentication, encryption, or protective measure.
Shado may block, throttle, or suspend access to Vault Lookup or any part of the Site where high-volume, automated, suspicious, or abusive activity is detected.
Limited licence
Shado grants a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Site solely for personal, non-commercial purposes. No material may be reproduced, modified, or distributed without written permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, design, software, images, and structure, is protected by international copyright, trademark, and design laws. "Shado" and related marks are trade marks of Shado Pty Ltd. Third-party names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Vault Lookup (informational only)
Vault Lookup shows the registry status recorded against a Shado ID: edition, registration date, number of verified transfers, any reported tamper, and whether the item is active, transfer pending, reported stolen or under review. A theft report shows as reported stolen from the moment it is made. If no police reference is confirmed within 30 days, the status shows as under review until one is. It never shows owner identity or who applied a status. It checks an ID, not a physical piece: to confirm that a piece carries that ID, tap it with the Shado app, where each tap is cryptographically verified against the Shado registry. Vault Lookup does not determine legal title, market value, condition, brand warranty status, or disputes between parties.
Shado verification relates to the record attached to a protected watch or handbag. It is not a substitute for legal title, insurance review, servicing records, condition checks, valuation, or warranty confirmation.
Automated querying, scraping, resale, or falsification of Vault data is prohibited. Shado may suspend or revoke access to protect authenticity and system integrity.
Accuracy and reliance
All content is provided "as is" for general understanding only. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee completeness, reliability, or currency. Users should not rely solely on this Site for verification or decision-making.
Integrity, Security And Brand Protection
Our rights
Shado may modify, suspend, or restrict access to any part of the Site or Vault Lookup to protect authenticity, security, compliance, or user safety. We may remove or adjust materials without prior notice where required by law or to prevent misuse. Shado may also remove, alter, or discontinue any feature or content of the Site at any time without liability.
Anti-counterfeit and brand protection
Shado may take action to protect its trade marks, verification systems, and Vault data. Any attempt to falsify Shado records, impersonate ownership, or use Shado branding in a deceptive or counterfeit context may result in legal action or referral to law enforcement.
No competitive or derivative use
You may not use the Site, Vault, or related interfaces to reverse engineer, clone, benchmark, data-mine, or develop competing services or technologies without prior written authorisation. You may not use any Site content, metadata, Vault results, or system interactions for the creation, training, or improvement of machine-learning or AI models.
Cooperation with authorities and partners
Shado may cooperate with law enforcement, insurers, or brand partners to verify authenticity, prevent fraud or theft, and comply with legal obligations, while adhering to applicable privacy and data-protection laws.
Liability And Legal Limits
Warranties disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shado and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, Shado's total cumulative liability shall not exceed AUD $100 (or equivalent). Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be waived under Australian consumer law or other applicable regulations.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shado, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the Site, or misuse of the Vault.
Automatic termination
Any breach of these Terms immediately terminates the rights granted under this licence. Upon termination, you must cease all use of Shado systems and materials.
Force majeure
Shado is not responsible for delays, outages, or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, widespread internet or cloud service outages, supply chain disruptions, utility failures, government restrictions, or other force majeure events.

Governing law and jurisdiction
If you live in the UK or the EU, these Terms are governed by the law of the country where you live and you can bring proceedings in your local courts. Jurisdiction-Specific Consumer Rights
Australia (Australian Consumer Law)
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Where Shado is permitted to limit liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, Shado's liability is limited to resupply of the services or payment of the cost of resupply.
European Union (EU Consumer Rights Directive and applicable national law)
If you are a consumer located in the EU, you benefit from mandatory consumer protection provisions of your local law that cannot be excluded by contract. These Terms do not affect your rights under EU consumer protection law, including the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days where applicable, rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, and protection against unfair contract terms under the Unfair Contract Terms Directive. The limitation of liability and jurisdiction clauses in these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by applicable EU law.
United Kingdom (Consumer Rights Act 2015 and applicable UK law)
If you are a consumer located in the United Kingdom, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable UK consumer protection legislation are not affected by these Terms. The liability cap and governing law clause apply only to the extent permitted by UK law. Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you have under UK consumer protection law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
