Our purpose

Standards Set Early.

Shado’s responsibility starts with trust in luxury ownership. We are still young, so the approach has to be practical: clear standards now, better measurement as the company grows.

The strongest impact starts with people. If Shado makes theft, counterfeiting, and resale disputes harder, the benefit reaches owners, brands, insurers, resale partners, and law enforcement.

"Shado began with people: owners, families, makers, and the things they want protected. That is where the responsibility starts."
Matthew Lee, Founder

Environmental

What We Control, First.

We don't have a carbon inventory yet, but we will. Until then, we're focused on what we control: materials, packaging, and product lifespan. We avoid exaggerated claims and prioritise actions that are feasible at startup scale and remain credible at larger scale.

We won't claim recycled content unless we can prove it. Primary packaging should be recyclable by default where safety allows. For metals and finishes, we favour consistent, high-quality inputs to reduce defect rates and scrap.

We intend to pilot an e-waste take-back pathway in Australia as we grow, with data-bearing components handled through secure wipe or destruction. We will only make quantitative environmental claims once we have robust data to support them.

Social

Safety First. Dignity Always.

Shado’s social impact begins with owners. Theft, counterfeiting, and resale disputes should be harder. When something goes wrong, people need clearer steps.

If a watch or handbag is stolen, the owner needs clear steps and human help. The tools should inform lawful action, not encourage confrontation.

Publish a Responsible Use Guide.
Build a Supplier Code of Conduct into supplier onboarding.
Develop victim-first processes with insurer and retailer partners as they join.
Prepare training materials for trauma-aware communication during theft or loss.

Governance

Security By Design. Not By Policy.

Security starts with the way the system is built: clear access, auditable events, and documentation that matches reality.

As Shado grows, ESG and security topics will be part of regular management reviews, with actions tracked to completion. Risks are logged with owners, mitigations, and review dates. Changes that could alter risk posture are assessed through a structured process before release.

We take a proportionate approach to data protection that fits our current scale, without overclaiming formal certifications we don't yet hold.

What we're building toward

Near-Term Priorities

These are our near-term priorities. We won't publish targets we can't back up, and we won't claim progress we haven't made. As data matures, we'll say so openly.

Measurement

Establish auditable ways to measure packaging, supplier standards, security response times, and owner response during theft or loss events.

Transparency

Once pilot data stabilises, publish a concise public ESG summary with plain-language definitions and honest statements about what we cannot yet measure.

Scale responsibly

As we grow, keep public commitments close to what we can actually deliver.

What We Commit To

Shado is pre-launch. The commitments on this page are limited to what we can deliver at our current size.

We will update this page as pilot data becomes available.

This ESG Commitment sets out Shado's current priorities, practices, and intentions. It is a high-level overview for customers, partners, and investors. It does not constitute legal or financial advice, and does not create any contractual or performance guarantees.
