Sentinel editions (in development) are designed with location features, but Shado is not built around surveillance. Location reporting would only start after an owner reports a watch or handbag missing or stolen.

On Sentinel editions, location features are designed to start only after the owner reports the watch or handbag missing or stolen and activates Protection Mode. Shado may prompt the owner if something appears unusual, but the decision stays with the owner. Location goes to the owner only, and is never kept as a running record of someone’s movements.

Shado is pre-launch. We are preparing a small number of pilot partnerships with brands and makers. As watches, handbags, partners, and milestones go live, this page will be updated.

Shado is built into watches and handbags before first sale by the brands and makers we work with. When you buy from a partner brand or boutique, the certificate is already in place. Brands, boutiques, and future customers can contact us directly.

Not currently. Shado begins before first sale because that is the cleanest point to create a trusted record. For a pre-owned watch or handbag, we cannot verify everything that happened before it reached you, so we cannot treat it the same way as one protected from the beginning.

We are working with brands on compliant ways to authenticate pre-owned pieces. If you have a watch or handbag you'd like to see protected, the best step for now is to raise it with the brand directly.

Yes. The app is where owners manage the experience. You can verify your watch or handbag, view its history, manage transfer, activate protection if something goes wrong, and add a personal message to the record. Availability will depend on launch timing, product tier, and region.

Vault Lookup lets anyone enter a Shado ID on this website and see the status recorded against it: edition, registration date, verified transfers, any reported tamper and any loss or theft report. Owner identity is never shown. To confirm the piece in front of you is the one on that record, tap it with the Shado app.

A counterfeit can copy branding, paperwork or a listing. The Shado module is a different matter: the brand fits it at manufacture, it is designed to resist cloning, and each tap is cryptographically verified against the registry. If the strap or module is removed, the break is recorded and shows at every tap after. A verified tap confirms the Shado module and its registered history; it does not inspect every part of the piece.

Shado records ownership activity within its own system. It can show the available history attached to a protected watch or handbag, including registration, handover activity, and reported status where available. It does not replace legal title, brand warranty checks, condition checks, valuation, or private dispute resolution.

Activate Protection Mode in the app and report it to the police. The item is flagged as stolen straight away and can't be transferred, and anyone who checks it sees that it has been reported stolen. If no police reference is added within 30 days, the public status changes to under review until one is confirmed. Once Sentinel editions are available, they are designed to start location reporting as well.

Inside the app, you can write a message or dedication and add it to the watch or handbag’s record. Once saved, it can remain part of the history through future verified transfers.

For example, a parent can write a message when a child is born and hand the watch over years later. Later owners can add their own words, and earlier messages stay unchanged.

Your private contact details are not shown publicly through Vault Lookup. Customers, boutiques, and verification viewers see only the information needed to check the Shado record. Shado uses personal information solely where required to operate the service, support ownership actions, protect the platform, and meet legal or security obligations.

Your records should not depend entirely on Shado staying in business. The platform is being built with continuity in mind, including exportable records where supported and a path for continued access if continuity support is ever required.
